Diane started studying Dalcroze techniques at the RNCM in the 1990s. She used this learning throughout her career before returning to formal study to complete her certificate in 2016.
Dalcroze (named after music education philosopher Emile Jaques-Dalcroze) focuses on creating fully rounded musicians, rather than technical specialists. Workshops incorporate games that improve skills at rhythm, improvisation and getting a true sense of the music throughout the body and expressing it in a holistic way.
Diane provides Dalcroze workshops at a range of third level institutions, summer courses and one of sessions.
She has completed PhD research into the impact of the methods on her professional performance practice.
